Many people have misconceptions of Hackers, so, first let's see Who a Hacker really is.
Who is a Hacker ?
A Hacker is anyone who uses his/her technical skills to break something not to create something. Generally, that something is Computer's Security. This is what creates misconceptions among people.
People think that a Hacker is a criminal who breaks into other's computers illegally. They are not completely wrong, a person who hacks illegally is also a Hacker but that's not what being a Hacker is all about.
Hacking into computers to identify their weakness and fixing that weakness is what Hacking is all about.
How To Become Hacker ?
In field of Hacking, skills matters the most. No matter what certificate you have or from where you have studied, if you lack the skills. You can't do anything in this field.
So, what are the skills that a Hacker should have ? They are as follows, I will be assuming that you have basic IT and Hardware Knowledge.
1. NETWORKING
Networking is the most fundamental skill that everyone in the tech field should know. Because it's used pretty much in every tech field.
As for Hacking, Networking is very important in field of Hacking. You need to understand how the attack works and for that you need Networking. Otherwise you will end up being a Script Kiddie.
Learn Networking concepts like:
• TCP/IP Network Basics
• Various Network Protocols
• Domain Name Service (DNS)
• HTTP & Web Technologies
• Wireless Networks
• Bluetooth Networks
And many other Topics, to be discussed in future posts.
2. PROGRAMMING
Programming plays very important role in CyberSecurity. You need to learn different Programming Languages for different purposes. You need programming to build tools or to crack softwares or websites. Or simply to understand the tools. Knowing all these things is what separates a Hacker from a Script Kiddie.
Which Programming Languages to learn ?
If you want to become a good Hacker, you will have to learn many Programming Languages but if you are a beginner, I would recommend to start with Python .
Python is recommended because because Python is easy, has big community support, useful libraries and best for Scripting.

3. SWITCH TO LINUX
If you interested in Hacking, you must have heard the name of Kali Linux. Kali Linux is the most popular operating system among hackers.
It is the best choice for hackers, because of its flexibility, open source platforms and most importantly, it's Tools. Linux provides the best hacking tools needed for different purposes. If you have used windows for your whole life, you may face some problem switching to Linux because it has command based control. But it's not much hard to learn.
4. GO DEEP INTO CYBERSECURITY
After learning Networking, Programming and Linux, Now it's time for you to learn about different bugs, attacks, vulnerabilities and tools.
Learn about different vulnerabilities like SQL Injection, Cross Site Scripting, etc. and tools like Burpsuite, Metasploit, etc. All these things will be discussed in future posts.
5. PRACTICE HACKING
Learning isn't sufficient, you have to implement what you learned. Practicing the skills is what will make you expert in this field.
To practice hacking you can play CTF or do Bug bounty to gain real life experience. There are many sites to practice hacking.
7. STAY UPDATED
Staying up-to-date with what's going on in CyberSecurity world is really important because there are cyberattacks everyday, new bugs and vulnerabilities are found. You have to know as much as possible otherwise you will be left behind.
